Shell sellects Sloan for Fast-track Security Project
Wednesday, August 08, 2007 MARTINEZ, Calif.-- As part of a fast-track, $6-million security upgrade, Shell Oil Products selected Sloan Security Fencing, a Boise, Idaho, high-security fencing contractor, to install security fences and other upgrades at the company's refinery here.

The project will increase security against terrorist attacks, according to Sloan Security officials. Overall, the project includes new fencing around major portions of the 800-acre refinery, upgrades to the facility's camera system and reinforcements of entrances to guard against vehicle intrusions.

Las Vegas closes in on security

LAS VEGAS--McCarran International Airport awarded Sloan Security Fencing a $4-million contract for the construction of perimeter security enhancements late last year.

The Boise, Idaho-based company will add crash-resistant cabling to the perimeter and install anti-terrorism pop-up barriers at entrance gates as part of an overall $100-million terminal expansion project, managed by Bechtel Infrastructure Corp.
Sloan Security Fencing operates nationwide to install security fencing and barriers at petroleum refineries and nuclear energy facilities from northern Alaska to southern California, and for large infrastructure contractors such as Washington Group Intl. and Boeing.

    Photo at left shows construction crews working on border road west of Naco, Arizona. According construction workers, the Department of Homeland Security has let a contract to build 5.5 miles of single-layer pedestrian fencing to be connected to the existing fence at the Naco Port of Entry. There may be an additional 1.5 miles added to take the fencing up to the San Pedro Riparian area.
    One of the trailers on site belonged to Sloan Fencing & Construction out of Boise, Idaho.
    The fencing runs along the Ladd Ranch, a favorite crossing point for illegal aliens.
   Sources tell ABP that the fencing must be completed before the end of September.
